Intro
AI isn’t just for fun—it’s something I use every day to get real work done: writing, coding, brainstorming, and organizing ideas. Among the many AI tools out there, three contenders stand out: ChatGPT, Gemini (Google), and Copilot (Microsoft). The big question: which one is actually useful, fast, and accurate for day-to-day tasks?
The Tests
I ran three practical tasks on all three AIs, using identical prompts to see how they perform.
Task 1 — Writing
Prompt: Explain AI to a 12-year-old in 5 sentences.
AI | Response |

Gemini | Imagine a computer or robot that can think and learn, much like a human brain. This is called artificial intelligence, or AI, and it's designed to solve problems and perform tasks on its own. It gets smarter by studying huge amounts of information, similar to how you learn from experience. You likely see AI in action in video games, or when your phone suggests the next word to type. Essentially, AI is all about creating smart machines to help us with complex jobs. |
ChatGPT | Artificial intelligence, or AI, is when computers are taught to think and solve problems like humans do. It can learn from data and make decisions on its own, such as recognizing faces or suggesting videos you might like. AI helps make things faster and easier, like having a robot assistant. Even though it's really smart, humans still have to guide and control it. People are working to make sure AI is helpful and safe for everyone. |
Copilot | Artificial intelligence, or AI, is like teaching a computer to think and learn a bit like people do. Instead of just following fixed instructions, it can figure things out by looking at lots of examples. For example, it can learn to recognize pictures of cats after seeing thousands of them. AI can help with things like answering questions, playing games, or even driving cars. It’s powerful, but people still need to guide it and make sure it’s used in good ways. |
Task 2 — Website Ideas
Prompt: Give me 3 creative ideas to improve life.minescout.net
.
AI | Response |
---|---|
Gemini | 1. Interactive "Minecraft Adventure" Posts. 2. Community Build Showcase. 3. "IRL Crafting" Series connecting Minecraft concepts to real life. |
ChatGPT | 1. Interactive Journal Feature. 2. Gamified Challenges. 3. Community Ideas Board. |
Copilot | 1. Interactive Achievement Tracker. 2. Dynamic World Showcase. 3. AI-Powered Build Assistant. |
Task 3 — Productivity / Summarization
Prompt: Summarize a paragraph on AI in 2 bullet points.
AI | Response |
---|---|
Gemini | • Automates human tasks using algorithms to recognize patterns and make rapid decisions. • Drives efficiency but raises concerns like job displacement and ethics. |
ChatGPT | • AI automates human tasks using machine learning to identify patterns, make decisions, and improve speed and efficiency. • Raises concerns like job loss and ethics, so society must manage it responsibly. |
Copilot | • AI automates human tasks using machine learning and data processing, enabling faster pattern recognition, decision-making, and insights. • Boosts efficiency and innovation, but raises concerns about job loss and ethics. |
